Registering For Classes
Continuing students
(those currently enrolled at BCC) should make an appointment with
their advisor to select courses and turn in their registration form
to the Registrar’s Office or the South County Center. Students
can always schedule a registration appointment with the Academic
Advising Center, ext. 1620.
Returning students
(those returning after an absence of one or more semesters) may
begin to register if they have re-admitted to a degree or certificate
program. Registration will be by appointment with the Academic Advising
Center. Students re-admitting to a degree or certificate program
will receive registration information from the Admissions Office
upon acceptance.
Most new
students will receive registration instructions from
the Admissions Office upon acceptance. In general, new students
admitted for the fall are invited to attend a half-day Orientation/Registration
program. As part of the program, students meet with an advisor and
register for fall courses.
It is recommended that new
non-degree students make an appointment with the Academic
Advising Center prior to registering. General registration instructions
will also appear in the semester schedule booklet which will be
distributed to homes in Berkshire County approximately 2 months
prior to the beginning of the semester..
Students who register for fall courses prior to July
will be billed for their fall semester tuition and fees. Students
who register July through August must either pay at the time of
registration, pick up a copy of their bill or they will be mailed
a bill. Payment is due mid-August. After approximately mid-August,
payment is required at the time of registration.
Students who register for spring courses prior to
November will be billed for their spring semester tuition and fees.
Students who register November through December must either pay
at the time of registration, pick up a copy of their bill or they
will be mailed a bill. Payment is due mid-January. After approximately
mid-January, payment is required at the time of registration.
Non-Degree Students
If you wish to register for spring courses at BCC,
without having to apply for admission to the college, you may do
so as a non-degree student.
As a prospective non-degree student, you need to read
the course description of any course that interests you. If the
description lists a skills prerequisite or prerequisite course,
you must satisfy the listed requirements before registering. Evidence
of having satisfied the listed requirement must be presented when
registering. Acceptable evidence includes a transcript from BCC
or other college/university or the results of BCC’s learning
skills assessment.
If you unsure whether or not you have met the prerequisite
for a course, you should consult with the Academic
Advising Center (ext. 1620) prior to registration.
If you need to take the Learning Skills Assessment
you may schedule an appointment at either the main campus or the
South County Center by calling the Assessment
and Testing Center at ext. 1657.
